Since the night he spotted a UFO when he was about 12 years old, Dave has been fascinated with the strange and unexplained. His first childhood books were about space exploration, archaeology, and astronomy - things that still interest him today.
When his sister moved into a haunted house, he saw it as a chance to learn more about the unseen world around us. He began his own research group, Passing Lane Paranormal Investigations, and spent over three years exploring haunted locations all over southern Ohio. The findings from these investigations, along with hundreds of documentary photographs, became the foundation for his first book, Headless Brides and Devil Dogs - Exploring Southern Ohio's Haunted Roads and Bridges.
In 1983, he graduated from The Art Academy of Cincinnati with a major in photography and a strong interest in documentary photography. This interest has led him to begin writing and producing short documentary films.
Dave is considered an Advanced Meditator and has been practicing Transcendental Meditation for over 35 years. He lives just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio.
